  About us
Banco de Valores' raison d'etre: being the bank enabling the stock Group to have access to activities inherent in banks, with regard to securities and capital market operations in general.

The capital stock of Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires S.A. is integrated by 183 shares hold by 140 Brokerage Firms - many of them controlled by banks, 11 Stock Broker Firms and 12 individual Stock Brockers. They normally operate with Banco de Valores as its natural leading bank. Besides, the Bank takes part in the liquidation of all the operations of Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires.

The vast experience in the Stock Exchange System needs not to be enlarged. Two years after creating Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires (1856), it began the underwriting and trade of stocks of the first Companies in making a public offering. Among them we can name: Compañía de Gas, Banco Argentino, Caja de Crédito, Coliseum and Ferrocarriles del Sur. In 1898, the coordination of Fondo Patriótico was accomplished, where Bolsa de Comercio evidenced the decisive role it would have to perform in the following decades as to the development of the Mercado de Capitales Argentino (Argentine Capital Market).

The institutional relation with stock brokers and brokerage firms was successfully shown in the placement of YPF stocks, where Banco de Valores acted as coordinator for the Argentine trench in June, 1993.
